GRUPO PELA VIDDA (GROUP FOR LIFE) - The Group for
VIDDA (valorization, integration and dignity for the person ill with AIDS)
was founded by Herbert Daniel in 1990, in Rio de Janeiro. Today there are
other groups with the same objectives in various states. It has as its end
to propagate information about prevention, legal support to serum positives,
consultation, psychological accompaniment, discussions, accusations on
occasions that involve discrimination against the carrier of the AIDS virus,
among other activities.
SOCIEDADE VIVA CAZUZA (LONG LIVE CAZUZA SOCIETY) - Non-governmental
organization that shelters child carriers of the AIDS virus in Rio de
Janeiro / RJ. Maintained by the authorial rights to the musical work of
singer and composer Cazuza. Also depends on the spontaneous contributions
collaborator.
ELTON JOHN AIDS FUNDATION - Foundation created by the world famous
musician. It receives and directs funds for the development of research in
the tight against AIDS, among various other activities. Official site in

GRUPO VHIVER - Non-governmental organization operating in Belo
Horizonte/MG, in the combat against AIDS, helping in increasing awareness
and prevention of the forms of contagion, and news about medications,
among other activities.
GRUPO DE PESQUISA DA DESCRIMINAÇÃO (GROUP FOR RESEARCH INTO
DISCRIMINATION) - Extension of the work of the Center of Judaic
Studies of the University of São Paulo, that monitors and denounces
neo-Nazi movements and actions, violence and discrimination against
minority groups.
INTERVIEW WITH HERBERT DANIEL - Interview with journalist Sylvio de Oliveira,
published in the journal Nós Por Exemplo (We, For Example) in 1991.
Home page "Planeta Gay" ("Planet Gay"), that, among other focuses about
homosexuality, transcribed various interviews published in this defunct
periodical.
ANISTIA INTERNACIONAL (AMNESTY INTERNATIONAL) - Page of Portuguese-
language countries. Entity with offices in diverse countries. Objective to
obtain the immediate and unconditional release of prisoners of conscience,
or be it, of persons detained in any place in the world by reason of their
convictions, color, sex, ethnic origin, language or religion, so long as
they have not used or advocated violence. That political prisoners be
brought to judment without delay, and that this take place in a just manner,
according to accepted international norms. The total eradication of the
death penalty and of torture, along with any cruel, inhuman or degrading
punishment or treatment.
MILITARY REGIME - Excellent page by Anderson de Oliveira about the
period of the military dictatorship that began with the military coup in
1964. The focus is rich in historical information with photos of the time,
pointing out the governments of the time, the resistence of the popular
movements, the torture and the opening. Read.

FERNANDO
GABEIRA - Official page of Fernando Gabeira. Journalist, took part in
the student movement and in the guerilla war against the military
dictatorship at the end of the 1960's. Participated in the kidnapping of
the American Ambassador Charles Elbrick and wrote, among other works, the
bestseller O que é isto, companheiro? (Four days in september). Know what
he is doing currently for Brazilian society, through his projects as
federal deputy.
ALFREDO SIRKIS - Alfredo Sirkis, national president of the Green Party.
Like Herbert Daniel, Fernando Gabeira and other activists of the student
groups that were formed to combat the military dictatorship, the ex-student
leader is known for his environmental struggle and projects. His memories of
the time of the student movement and guerilla were recorded when he wrote
the bestseller, Os carbonários: memórias da guerrilha perdida (The
"Carbonieri": Memories of a Lost Guerilla War), the work on which was based
the Rede Globo (Globo Television Network) series "Anos dourados" ("Rebel
Years"). Exiled in Chile, he lived through the military coup of General
Pinochet against the government of Salvador Allende, writing the book Roleta
chilena (Chilean Roulette).
THE LIFE OF OLGA BENÁRIO - Page about the life of Olga Benário, jewess,
wife of Luís Carlos Prestes, the major exponent of the PCB (Brazilian
Communist Party). Was extradited by the government of Getúlio Vargas to the
German Nazi government, and died in an extermination camp.
